General Requirements:
These re essential conditions for this recruitment exercise. As a matter of fact, the following facts apply. You must be:
- A Nigerian citizen by birth or descent;
- Not less than 18 years or more than 35 years of age;
- Not less than 1.7 metres in height for male and 1.64 metres for female; And
- Have a fully expanded chest measuring not less than 0.87 metres;
- Certified by Government Medical Officer to be physically and mentally fit for appointment into the Service;
- Free from any form of mental or physical disability;
Others Include:
- Free from any form of financial embarrassment;
- Of good character and must have no criminal offence records;
- Candidates with any of the following medical cases need not apply:
- Sight problem;
- Hearing difficulties;
- Previous major orthopedic operation;
- Flat foot;
- Fracture, stammering or any other natural disability;
- Pregnant women

Academic Qualifications:
Application re in officers cadre, therefore, you must fall within any of the folloing.
( A) Applications relating to junior officers must possess the following:
- West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or
- National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including English Language.)
(B) Applications relating to intrmediate officers must possess the following:
- National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution.
- National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution; or
- General Certificate of Education (Advance Level) in two (2) subjects obtained at one sitting or three (3) subjects obtained at two sittings.)
(C) Applications relating to Senior officers must possess the following:
- B.Sc, B.A, HND or equivelent from approved institutions.

Guidelines on Aptitude Tests:
Furthermore, where aptitude test’s involved, work on these.
- Practice Aptitude tests online. Practise worked example. Get used to working on paper. The quickest way to do calculations is on piece of paper.
- Get all right tools. Ensure you’ve good calculator, lots of rough paper, few pens and a watch.
- Ensure you know type of test you’ll be sitting.
- Again, make sure you’re in comfortable environment when practicing aptitude tests.
- Do the test yourself. Don’t get friend to sit your aptitude test for you. Ensure your skills re up to required standard to do the job you’re applying for.
- Therefore, read guidance provided before sitting assessment.
- Don’t get bogged down on a question. If you get stuck, don’t let the clock run down, move on, you might find next question easier, and
- Don’t guess wildly. Your aptitude test score is combination of speed and accuracy. It’s important not to haphazardly guess to try and finish all questions.
- Spend few seconds familiarising yourself with graphs/tables/pies chart you’re presented with before launching into question.
