As a matter of fact, its Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday James, announced this in a statement on Monday, 13, May 2019.
He explained that prior to the migration to a web-based portal, you were expected to forward applications for visa via email or hard copy to the Comptroller General for approval.

Furthermore, the system is simplified one. This is because you’ld only be required to log-onto www.immigration.gov.ng to apply for the facility. Then, make payments, and receive approvals online.

“The Comptroller-General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede, hereby calls on genuine investors to take advantage of the innovation as it improves migration and transparency in the system in line with the Federal Government’s policy of Ease of Doing Business.”
